Sometimes I don’t want to get out of bed.
Although I am a huge advocate of morning rituals, there are still times when I don’t want to get up out of bed in the morning! I even often wonder if I didn’t have the school run to do, would I budge at all. The truth is I have strengthened my muscle of Morning Rituals and trained my mind to connect with the feeling I experience when my morning rituals are complete. My beautiful radiant Goddess loves ease and flow. Good news, you can too. I condition this muscle by refining my morning rituals on going.
Coffee first is not a Spiritual practice, just saying.
The last few weeks have been particularly challenging for me with hay-fever season, peri-menopause symptoms, back ache bla, bla, bla. Waking up feeling heavy, tired, itchy eyes, scratchy throat, sweaty and the rest. Feeling like a hot mess.
The body loves to move.
I have become really conscious of how my body loves to move and stretch at the beginning of the day. So the first thing I do is this, I pull out my yoga mat (now under my bed) and stretch. As I press my nose into the top of my mat, lying on my belly, I can assure you that you do not need a picture. I simply set heartfelt intention for the day, placing my two hands on the mat I say ‘May every person that encounters my presence today, experience the grace of God that is within me.’ Intention set and body stretched. I am up and out of bed.
Go now, get up.
The trick to getting up earlier in the morning is to create the habit, I tell myself too ‘Go Now’ and focus on getting my feet to hit the floor. Once you’re up you are ahead of the game. How you begin your day will set the tone for the energy that you summon. Morning rituals will allow you to begin your day with love, grace and intention or hit the snooze and attract more chaos, drama and stress. It is a no brainer my lovely.
But we have to consciously decide that for the next 21 days I am going to just do it!
Work in increments and begin 15 minutes earlier each week until you arrive at your desired time and align with your own natural rhythm and body clock. Giving yourself enough time to feel calm and in control of your schedule. Our greatest asset is our time. Get an accountability buddy for yourself.
Own your morning, own your day
I truly believe that when we own our morning, we own our day, for me the transformation from that initial negative thought in bed to mirror affirmations one hour later, is miraculous.
